About   The   Artist

David Louis Fulton is a self-taught artist from Virginia Beach, Virginia.  He has commonly been regarded in his social circles as someone with a God given gift of drawing.  That gift would eventually evolve into something greater as he discovered a love for painting.  Much of the content seen in his gallery is influenced by nature and seascapes, giving a signature style and look to his work.  Using a combination of  raw talent, technique, and inspiration, he brings it all to life in an array of colorful abstracts and portaits.   His preferred medium for painting is acrylic.

Fulton’s work has earned the praise and respect of art enthusiasts and patrons along the east coast and throughout Charlotte, North Carolina, where he and his wife currently reside.  He continues to share and sell original works through local art galleries and select events, while taking time to commission customized art at buyer’s request. His work (Blue Light of Hope) was featured and recognized in the Charlotte stage play Cell Phone Blues.  He has won judge honors at Charlotte’s Festival in Park (2009) and has displayed at Chapel Hill’s Festifall (2010).  Annually he seeks to donate select pieces to charitable organizations, including the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.

Fulton is a graduate of Hampton University in Hampton, Virginia, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Media.  Beyond The Canvas was launched as the visionary platform to share his art with the masses and inspire beholders with his creativity.
